Using a belt and knee sleeves in training
In this video, I answer the question: Is it good to use a belt, knee sleeves, or wrist wraps in training?
Equipment is allowed in weightlifting and can provide an advantage, but for amateur athletes and those just starting out, I don’t think the main goal should be to lift as many kilograms as possible at any cost. Accessories can hide technical problems, limit mobility, and, in the long run, increase the risk of injury.
Professionals take these risks for performance and results, but for most people in the gym, the goal should be long-term progress, safety, and real strength development, no shortcuts. That’s why I recommend beginners focus on technique, quality repetitions, and building a solid base before introducing any support equipment.
Ultimately, everyone must choose their path based on their personal goals, but listening to their body and thinking about their long-term health.
