Z Press

The Z Press is a variation of the strict press (also known as the military press) exercise, it is a shoulder exercise that targets the shoulders and triceps.

The exercise is performed by pressing a barbell or dumbbell overhead while sitting on the ground with your legs straight out in front of you, in a “Z” shape, hence the name “Z press”. The exercise is called “Z press” because of the position of the legs during the movement.

This variation of the press exercise allows the lifter to work the shoulders and triceps at a different angle, and it also helps to eliminate any leg drive or momentum that might help in the lift.

The Z press is a challenging exercise that requires a good level of core, hip, and back stability and it’s important to use proper form and technique to avoid injury.
