Single Leg Romanian Deadlift
Single Leg Romanian Deadlift aka SL RDL
The Single Leg Romanian Deadlift (SL RDL) is a single-leg exercise that targets the muscles of the posterior chain, specifically the glutes and hamstrings. This exercise is performed by holding a weight, such as a dumbbell or kettlebell, in one hand and lifting one leg off the ground. While keeping the back straight, the athlete then bends forward at the hips, lowering the weight towards the ground while maintaining balance on one leg. The movement is then reversed to return to the starting position. The single-leg aspect of this exercise helps to improve balance and stability, and also helps to target and strengthen the muscles of the glutes and hamstrings more effectively. It’s also a great exercise for injury prevention, as it helps to improve hip stability and strength which helps to reduce the risk of injury in the lower back and knee.
