Lu Raises – Technique & Coaching Cues

Lu Raise is an accessory exercise for Olympic weightlifting that targets
the upper back and traps. It helps develop the pulling mechanics needed
for a strong clean and jerk.

How to perform Lu Raises:
– Start with light dumbbells or plates
– Raise arms to the side while keeping a slight forward lean
– Control the descent, the eccentric phase is key
– Keep shoulder blades engaged throughout

Use this exercise as accessory work after your main Olympic lifting session.
2-3 sets of 10-15 reps.
